Take a walk through Northgate in Almondbury and you can’t fail to notice all the colourful artwork that now adorns shop frontages.
This is our wonderful “Almondbury HeART” art installation in conjunction with King James’s School and Almondbury Community School.
In total over 150 different pieces of art have been submitted and more recently artwork has been installed outside The Sun Lepton.
Thank you to Jake (and family) who displayed the art and also to Shelley, one of our local business association members from Angelic Images Photography who captured some amazing photos of the first phase of artwork being displayed.
Following the first phase, our business association was delighted when a local family offered to produce more wooden hearts which could be put on display at various locations in the area. The first heart was positioned outside Neu in Almondbury village.
Dad, Russ and sons Eddie and Tom, who both attend King James’s School, didn’t waste any time making more hearts over the VE Day weekend! Russ has his own business, RGGAS plumbing and heating and is a key worker, and he managed to fit in time during working to help!
Five more fabulous hearts have now been placed in their new homes which include Lepton Square, Southfield Court, Thorpe House, Kirkwood Hospice and Harvey’s Bar/Kitchen.
Thank you very much to King James’s School and Almondbury Community School for working alongside Almondbury Business and Community Association on this project. We hope it brings a smile to many faces over the coming weeks.
