Kirklees Council information on Business support for businesses in Kirklees

It is estimated that more than 900 eligible businesses in Kirklees are still to apply for a Government grant that could provide valuable financial assistance during the COVID-19 pandemic. We have now paid out almost £72million in Government coronavirus grants to 6389 local businesses and hundreds of applications continue to be processed every day.

All eligible local businesses that apply will receive a one-off payment of either £10,000 or £25,000 and the grant doesn’t need to be paid back.

All businesses in Kirklees with a rateable value of less than £15,000 and who are already in receipt of Small Business Rate Relief, Rural Rate Relief or tapered relief are eligible for a £10,000 Small Business Grant.

In addition, businesses in the retail, hospitality and leisure sectors, with a rateable value of over £15,000 and less than £51,000, are eligible for a £25,000 grant under the Government’s Retail, Hospitality and Leisure Grant scheme to help mitigate loss of trade or other impacts of COVID-19.

To find out more about the grants and apply online visit this page on the Kirklees website.

Business owners can also contact the Council business rates team if they have any questions about the grants or their application at business.rates@kirklees.gov.uk
